I decided that, in honour of what is probably the best Java game ever created, I would make a real minecraft cake. Here is the result:

Nintendo Wii
The Nintendo Wii is just another gaming console, like a Playstation or Xbox. So why choose it over any other? Well, for starters, it's wireless, which means that there aren't any cords to trip over, and you can't accidentally pull remotes out of the console. It's designed to have the user standing up, so that they get a little exercise, instead of sitting for hours. In games like 'Wii Sports' which comes with the console, exercise is particularly encouraged. This is because of the actions, like swinging a tennis racket, golf club, or baseball bat. The Nintendo Wii is currently available in the colours white, and black. Various accessories are available, like, for example, a nunchuk, which lets you have movement in both hands, or a steering wheel that the Wii remote fits into. This is used in vehicle racing games such as 'Mario-cart'.
The Nintendo Wii is developed by Nintendo, and manufactured by Foxconn, founded in 1974, which also makes the ipad, ipod, and iphone. It is a Taiwanese company that is the world's largest manufacturer of electronic components. But Foxconn is under current scrutiny for employee mistreatment. This includes long working hours, discrimination among employees, and even some suicides in 2010.

Darius Bell and the Glitter Pool
Darius Bell and the Glitter Pool
Short-listed for Book Week 2010 and highly recommended.
“Darius Bell and the Glitter Pool” is a novel about Darius Bell and his quirky family traditions and relationships.
Darius’ father faces a problem. Every generation the Bell family must give a magnificent gift to the city in order to remain living in the Bell estate. Everyone is expecting the best gift yet, but over the years money has run dry for the Bells. Will the sixth gift be its magnificent standard or will the Bells face shameful humiliation?
Readers will enjoy the spontaneous events and discoveries, as Darius strives to find a gift in time. With his vain older brother Cyrus, who does not believe the Bells can afford a gift, trying to explain there is no way to give an excellent gift, Darius nearly loses hope.
With a surprising, warming ending, “Darius Bell and the Glitter Pool” is almost perfect. The only possible improvement would be a sequel. Odo Hirsch has literally poured his imagination onto each and every page of this two hundred and thirty two page novel.
Ten to fourteen year olds will be captivated by the inviting title, and simple yet mysterious cover. If you are looking for a quick read, “Darius Bell and the Glitter Pool” is the go for you or your child.
